A 1 Kilometer road in Banasthali, near Balaju
is named after the famous mountaineer
Late Babu Chhiri Sherpa

A 1 kilometer long road recently black carpeted in ward number 16 of Banasthali near Balaju is named after Late Babu Chhiri Sherpa. The road was officially named and inaugurated by Minister of Tourism Buddhiraj Bajracharya and Deputy Minister of Tourism Mrs. Yankila Sherpa. Everest Tole Reform Committee headed by Wongchu Sherpa as President, is the main force behind getting the street renamed in honour of this famous mountaineer Babu Chhiri Sherpa.

Wongchu believes that a legendary person like Babu Chhiri Sherpa who had done so much to promote Nepal to the outside world, should not be forgotten by any means.

Everest Told Reform Committee is also taking care of day to day cleaning of the street, keeping the environment around the road clean and safe for the people residing in the area as well as for the people who commute on the road every day. ETRC extends it's heartfelt Thanks to all the local residents who helped during the re-construction of the road.
